Message to Communion Class June 2020

5th Jun 2020

5th June 2020

Dear P4 boys and girls,

I am very much thinking of you all in these days that would have been leading up to a very special time for you and your families, had we all been in school as normal. This Saturday was to have been your First Communion Day and we now would have had all our preparation for the sacrament and our celebration done. Unfortunately, this current health crisis has interrupted your lives and means that you can't have this celebration just now. You and your families are very much in my thoughts and prayers. Take a little time on Saturday to talk to God yourself, let him know about your disappointment and ask him to give you patience until the time is right for you to make your First Holy Communion and have a lovely celebration with your classmates and your family. None of us know yet when that time will be, but know for sure, that when the time comes, you will be well prepared and you will have the most wonderful celebration. I miss you all very much and hope that you are trying your best to complete your school work and help out a little bit at home. I'm sure you are all managing to have lots of fun too with your families. Perhaps you and your family might have a special dinner, buns or cake on Saturday to mark what would have been your First Communion celebration.

One of the hymns we will sing on your First Communion Day carries a message that I want you to remember;

'Is maith le hÍosa mise , Bíonn sé i gcónaí liom' (Jesus loves me and is always with me)

May God bless you all and keep you in the palm of his hands.

Fr Corr will be offering special prayers for you at the 10.00am Mass in St Therese’s Chapel on Sunday 7th June, you are welcome to participate online.

Warmest wishes,

Mrs. Macauley.
