About our School...

St. Francis' PS was built in 1995 and has been growing and evolving ever since. A rural primary school with a strong nurturing ethos, the entire St. Francis' PS team are very proud of our pupil's kind hearts and bright minds.

When you visit our school you will be met with a warm welcome from staff and pupils alike. We work hard to create an environment where our pupils feel happy, secure and ready to learn. We recognise that progress and success will look different for each child, we are ambitious for each pupil and want to see each child thrive physically, academically and emotionally. As a Catholic primary school, our values are deeply embedded in how we support, nurture and challenge our pupils to be their best and do their best. Our pupils and staff are encouraged to notice and celebrate when we show our best qualities: kindness; creativity; curiosity; resilience and community.

We are committed to delivering a robust curriculum which reflects evidenced-based approaches to learning and teaching so that our pupils receive the best possible start in life. We are extremely grateful to our PTA and our families who help the school so much with enrichment activities throughout the year and fundraising work to help ensure our school is well-resourced. Their work in the last 4 years has been transformative and has helped staff to enrich our pupils' learning opportunities with greater access to technology, outdoor learning spaces and special learning opportunities such as author visits, First Aid training and wellbeing Art lessons.

Our partnerships with our local Gaelic clubs and secondary schools have led to further opportunities for pupils to avail of coaching, lessons from subject specialists at NewBridge Integrated College and access to their state of the art resources.

St. Francis' PS is a school which is supported well by the community it serves and we are incredibly grateful for the many ways in which our local community continues to support us.
