P5 are taking their first steps to developing their critical literacy skills by researching and evaluating the reading materials in our P5 class library. They have thoughtfully concluded that we need more material on Dwarf Syrian Hamsters.
They are beginning to consider elements of graphic design and collaborative work flows with this “unplugged” dry run of their upcoming research project. Pupils thought about placing and spacing information, direction of flow and how to engage and stimulate a reader without overwhelming them.
After a spell of collaboration, pupils paused and reflected on their classmates work, discussed what a great one looked like and reflected on what ideas they might work into their own draft as they progressed.
All in all, a highly productive afternoon in P5. 🤩
